Abela Egypt, Egypt's first private company managing the Elite Sleeper Train, joins forces with Amisol Travel Egypt to introduce a unique way to experience the Total Solar Eclipse of 2 August 2027 in Luxor. Together they created the Abela Eclipse Express - an authentic rail journey connecting Cairo, Luxor and Aswan, with the eclipse celebration at the heart of the experience.
With exceptionally high visitor numbers expected across Egypt during the eclipse period, airports and domestic flights are anticipated to be extremely busy. Travelling by train is the smart way to reach totality: sleep on board, wake somewhere extraordinary, and let the journey become part of the event.
This second Eclipse Express departure adds a full free day in Aswan, with an optional Abu Simbel excursion, before eclipse morning. One journey.

Welcome to Cairo
Upon arrival at Cairo International Airport, meet your Amisol Travel representative for welcome assistance. Private transfer to your hotel and check-in. Enjoy the remainder of the day at leisure. Overnight: Cairo Novotel 6th of October or similar.

Pyramids, Grand Egyptian Museum & the Eclipse Express
After breakfast, meet your Egyptologist and begin your exploration of Cairo. Visit the legendary Giza Plateau, home to the Great Pyramid, the Pyramids of Khafre and Menkaure and the Great Sphinx. Continue to the spectacular Grand Egyptian Museum. Lunch is served during the sightseeing programme. In the evening, transfer to Cairo Railway Station and board the Abela Elite Sleeper Train, settling into your private cabin as the Eclipse Express begins its overnight journey south through the Nile Valley towards Aswan. Overnight: Abela Elite Sleeper Train.

Aswan, Philae Temple & Felucca on the Nile
Arrive in Aswan and meet your local guide. Visit the beautiful Temple of Philae, dramatically located on an island and reached by motorboat. After sightseeing, transfer to your hotel and check in. Later in the afternoon, board a traditional felucca for a relaxed sail around Aswan's islands. Optional: a visit to a Nubian Village can be arranged. Overnight: Aswan.

A full day at leisure in Aswan, or join the optional excursion to the great temples of Abu Simbel. Relax and prepare for Eclipse Day. Overnight: Aswan.

Total Solar Eclipse Day - Aswan, Luxor & Cairo
An unforgettable day begins very early. At approximately 5:00 AM, transfer to Aswan Railway Station and board the morning train to Luxor, arriving around 7:00 AM. Meet your Egyptologist and travel directly to Luxor's West Bank to explore the Valley of the Kings, the Temple of Queen Hatshepsut and the Colossi of Memnon. Continue to the Abela × Amisol Total Solar Eclipse Festival on a specially selected green-field viewing site on the West Bank, with a reserved prime viewing area, individual guest space, chairs and umbrellas, water and soft drinks, light refreshments, Abela catering, a freshly grilled festival lunch, space for cameras and on-site coordination by Amisol Travel. Departure from the venue is planned from approximately 4:00 PM. In the evening, visit the magnificent Luxor Temple, especially atmospheric after sunset, then transfer to Luxor Railway Station and board the Abela Elite Sleeper Train back to Cairo. Overnight: Abela Elite Sleeper Train.

Return to Cairo & Khan El Khalili
Upon arrival in Cairo, meet your local representative and continue to historic Khan El Khalili, exploring the atmospheric lanes, traditional shops and cafés of Old Cairo. Afterwards, transfer to your hotel and check in. The remainder of the day is free to relax after your journey through Upper Egypt. Overnight: Cairo.

After breakfast, check out and transfer to Cairo International Airport according to your international flight departure time. Alternatively, continue with one of our optional Egypt extensions: Nile Cruise, Red Sea, Alexandria, Siwa Oasis, Western Desert, Abu Simbel or a longer Cairo stay.
